institute built for studies in arts and philosophy.

| It was incorporated on February 28, 1968 by Pablo Casals, Luis Muñoz Marín, Roberto Busó Carrasquillo, and Jaime Benítez and organized on 1976 by a request made by Ricardo Alegría, to transform the center into a institute for advanced students. |

| The academic programs offered in the Centro de Estudios Avanzados de Puerto Rico y el Caribe, are designed for people that love history, literature, archeology and the culture of Puerto Rico and the region of the Caribbean. |
